Inspired by the house of stairs by M.C Escher an adaption of the same was explored using Grasshopper and rhino highlighting the Dichotomy of Indoor and outdoor Circulation. The Fluent amalgamation of these two circulation paths creates interesting spatial conditions within the core of the staircase. The circulation pattern creates opportunities for interaction as a part of the building system.
The inherent form gives the user the possibility to choose either of the circulation paths all eventually meeting in a semi-open central core at equilateral instances. The form was given shape by creating two simple spiral curves intersected and mirrored creating spatial complexity. This process was further mirrored again to create symmetry and added intricacy.
The overall building is a symmetrical aggregation of the individual staircase units. The multiplication of which creates a traversable parametric Iso-Surface. The aim of the building is to encourage path-finding within the monolithic structure creating opportunities for interactions at every junction. Multiple punctures on the ground invite visitors to weave in and out to find their path to reach the top of the structure.
